There will be a few opportunities to test yourself against the clock in the next month or so.
Firstly, there are a series of three 10-mile TT's to be held on the 9th, 16th and 23rd of August. These are to be held on a course that starts just south of Wineham and goes up to the A272 where it turns west. It then turns south at Cowfold and then tracks home back through Shermanbury. This course is a nice alternative to the Steyning-Shoreham course that many of you might be bored of by now!
Secondly, there are two more of the Mill Hill hill-climbs that were so well attended in the Spring. These are on the 30th August and 6th September. For those who put a time in on this hill earlier in the year, this is great opportunity to see whether your summer's training and racing has yielded any improvements. For those who haven't done it before, why not come down and lay down a marker time? These are also only a month before the club hill climb, so they could be used as a good springboard to start your training for that event.
Remember; you don't need a TT bike or a silly-shaped helmet to enter these. You don't even need to be very good! TT's are primarily about YOU and YOUR own time. You are not racing against anyone else, you are simply testing yourself. So, let's all man up and get out and do these. A strong attendance will be expected and excuses will be met with general derisory and desultory comments.
