« Annual Dinner Dance | Main | Social Ride Saturday 11th June »

Hi all,

I have been trying to get in touch with the club a few times this week but haven't heard back.

I would really like to come and ride this Saturday but wanted to check I wouldn't be in the way. So far I have only ridden a max of 35 miles in one go (due to time). I have a Tri bike with Aero bars and have been using SPD's for about 4 months, getting fairly confident now.

I rode a solo 20 miles last Saturday; and in a 'violent' headwind kept an average pace of 13 mph and on the way back upped it to around 17/18 mph.

Please be brutally honest, I don't want to hold the group up if I am not quick enough.

I carry a pump, tube and repair kit so no worries there.

Can anyone from the club please reply in time for tomorrow...

Many thanks
PJ

Hi Phil, are you still leading the main club run? Tim

PJ, I'm sure you will be fine on the slower socil ride. Remember to bring some food (banana/ snack bar) and drink.

About the Club

  • Brighton Mitre Cycling Club was founded in 1894 in the now-defunct "Mitre" public house in Brighton. Well into our second century, the club is still extremely active, and aims to promote all aspects of competitive and lesiure cycling, both on- and off-road. We welcome new members! Club rides for roadies depart CaffĂ© Nero in Hove at 8.30am on Saturdays; a fast-paced, structured training ride for those with racing licences or ambitions to compete, and a more steady, social ride for anyone wishing to take it easy. Both rides are led by club members and aim to be back in Brighton by midday. For more details on the Saturday ride, contact the club. To join The Mitre, click here.
