Brighton Mitre Double Hill Climb - 10th October

Well Boys & Girls we near that time of year again.
Yes it’s the Brighton Mitre Double Hill Climb!!!!!! Saturday 10th October

Time to pay your penance to the mighty Bostal in the morning,
along with some soul cleansing on Mill Hill in the afternoon.
Plus the sin of ale drinking in the evening.
This was a great event last year that saw a record Mitre entry which is hoped to be bettered this year & there’s nothing like a leg burning face off against gravity to bring out the camaraderie between riders.

As well as the individual contest there’s also an overall team competition (four fastest times combined over both climbs). The Mitre has finished second twice in the last two years, both times coming close to winning, so it’s high
time this was dealt with.

This event is pre-entry only & entry forms have to be in by the 30th September

Brighton Mitre Road Race Update

After the a hectic couple of months racing in May/June it seemed a lot of the Mitre boys & girls took some time off the race scene in July. However it was not long before the Mitre names began to appear back on the result sheets, with Nathan & Martyn in particular continuing their good form. Nathan backed up his good Lewis Crits with a series of top ten finishes at Tuesday evening Dunsfold series with Martyn & Driss both clocking up some good results as well.

Congratulations to Morgan Lewis on moving up to Cat 3 after a 7th placing at Goodwood which he followed up with a 3rd place at Dunsfold in which he infiltrated the break of the day only to be pulled back. Sprinting out for what everyone thought was the finish only to be told they all had to do another lap & thus having to regroup again for a sprint finish.

 Congratulations also go to Nathan & Martyn who's relentless march towards Cat 2 finally came to a conclusion at Walliswood’s fast, narrow & sometimes damn right scary circuit. Both sensibly kept themselves towards the front of the pack to keep of trouble. On lap 5 a break of four formed & although they never got more than 40 seconds away from the pack two riders managed to hold off a charging pack which resulted in Martyn & Nathan placing 3rd & 5th respectively.
